Editorial Reviews

APR/MAY 96 - AudioFile

When Sister John and Sister Hyacinth investigate an unexpected legacy in the form of a house, they find more mysterious matters than the bequest itself. Alexander has caught the spirit of this story admirably. She takes on the nonsensical happenings at a gallop. The character of each nun is clearly differentiated. There can be no question as to who is speaking: the gruff, herbalist sister or her gentle, highly spiritual companion. The colorful presences of migrant workers, Mafioso and Indian sages are immediate. Gilman and Alexander offer rollicking good fun. S.B.S. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine
