About the Author

Leo Leon is a queer poet, writer, and author born in Brawley, CA; Coming from a small town near the border of Mexico, they left at 17 to figure out their purpose in life, getting stuck in the city of Long Beach... Leo had also studied with a bachelor's in English at Arizona State University. They began writing their debut novel in honor of their grandmother; from her passing, Leo had imagined a life where poetry was an escape from reality. Allowing themselves to be vulnerable with others and always have visions about what makes an audience feel something when they read a page within a book/novel. When they are not writing, they can be found wandering through the beach or journaling at a coffee shop. Leo is the author of OCT 10. and currently lives in Long Beach with their family and friends. "I don't know what life will bring me in the next 5-10 years…maybe I'll be living an average lifestyle (whatever that means), or I'll be one of those crazy writers who write a trilogy of something stupid, either way – I'm happy".

Steven Mayer is a 23-year-old queer male born and raised in Los Angeles. Growing up, he always loved seeing artists and the visuals they've presented with albums full of music one gets attached to for years to a lifetime. He has always admired Britney Spears, an artist in particular with every CD. "The one thing that always stood out to me was the music she made, her singing, and the fire in her dancing was her album photo shoots." He loves how all it takes is one person and their sense of freedom to frame the picture for the camera. When Steven was young, he always felt like an out-cast up until high school came to fruition; some friends and school peers would ask me if he could model for them or be a subject for a photo project. The very second he got in front of the camera and heard the first click. Instantly fell in love with being part of a piece of art but not only the art itself but making the art happen. Since then, He has made every event in his life into a visual reflection for people to see. His goal in life isn't to become known for having a pretty face in pictures; Steven wants to be known for capturing the emotions in the frame they see with his eyes. "I paint the world with the retina of my eyes and the power of my finger holding the camera." Steven is a proud owner of @fishlense.finneyes photography and lives in Los Angeles.
