Overview

The Kingdom, Territory, State of Hawaii is known for unusually large numbers of artists of all kinds. Many men in Hawaii are quilters, the percentage being. perhaps, ten times the number on the "Mainland." You may know of pharmacists and veterinarians and dentists who give Covid vaccinations during the day and build quilts by night. And vice-versa. Here is just one example of twenty-five years work which produced twenty paintings done with cotton fabric. I started with a pillow 90 by 108 inches because challenge. It is extremely satisfying work.

About the Author

My grandparents moved to Honolulu during world war 2, with other family members following. I lived not far from the state capitol building eight years while I was tutored in creativity by women who understood more than I about what we are doing on this planet. My science degrees are in Pharmacy with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. Two important trainings I have taken are "CDC Immunization" training and "Helping Families Grieve - When a Baby Dies" by Carondolet. When people interrupt me quilting in a park in Hawaii to look at my work, I try to get them to take a few stitches, increasing the spiritual value of the painting - blanket-quilt.
