About the Author

Elder Paige Sr. gave his life to Christ June 25th 2000, at Now Faith Out-Reach Center Europe. Later he attended leadership training at New Beginning Revival Center, MO. and was ordained there. He's served in positions from usher to Board Member and now serves a local ministry, volunteers at a nursing home. He says that he will actively "Wait upon the Lord." He is married to the love of his life, Elder A. Paige, and they have two wonderful children and two precious grandchildren.

CHAPTER 1

God Loves You

"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."

1 John 4:16 (KJV)

"God Is Love"

"God loves you; Period!" Sometimes, it can be hard to imagine that God loves you when you are going through some rough times in your life, but He does. He is there when things are good and especially when things aren't so good. The Bible tells us to "count it all joy" when ye fall into diverse temptation (James 1:2-3 KJV), and that no weapon formed against thee shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). But it's hard to see that love and protection when the trials of life are upon us. Nevertheless, He loves us and desires the best for us, but because of sin and the spiritual blindness it may cause (2 Corinthians 4:4), we can't and don't always see how wonderful God is.

Sometimes, we wonder why there's sickness and death in the world and we blame God. But the truth is we should be blaming the enemy, Satan, because he is the one who brought sin, sickness, and death amongst mankind (Romans 5:12 KJV). Let us not forget that Adam was a victim too!

God loves us and has made a way for us. He proved His love for us by sending His only begotten Son so that we may not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). The Bible says that God loved us even "while we were yet sinners" (Romans 5:8 KJV). So we didn't have to change a thing or try to prove to God that we are worthy of His love; He simply loves us and desires that we love Him too (1 John 4:19). Love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8 NIV).

Therefore, when you feel a little low and wonder if anybody cares about you or loves you, remember that God is love and that He loves you just where you are. Come to Him in humbleness of heart and prayer, and He will hear your prayers. The Bible says in Psalms 51:17 (KJV): "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." So He knows when you are low and in need of a touch. So don't hesitate, send up a prayer today and watch what God can do in your life today.

"Unbroken"

This is a message for those who need to touch the Master's robe: 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV), "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

The Lord tells us in His Word that He is able to mend our brokenness. In the pursuit of that healing, He has many things available to Him. Some of those things available to Him are miracles, anointing power, revelation, grace, mercy, salvation, angels, and His Word, all of which are available to meet our needs. The Bible says in Psalm 147:3 (NKJV), "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." This tells me that He will heal whatever aches our hearts and the emotions that may be tied to it. We simply have to trust and give it over to His delivering power.

The Bible says in Psalm 73:26 (NKJV), "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." This reminds us that, though we get weak, we still have a future to look forward to; a bright and shining future with God at the center of our lives. He says that He is our portion forever, and therefore we must remember that our problems won't last forever.

We are reminded in John 14:27(NKJV), "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." So, we have a reason to be at peace even in the midst of trouble, trials, and temptations. His supernatural peace is there for us, but we have to receive it. We have a choice to make — peace or worry ... choose peace!

Lastly, He gives us His permission to give our fears, burdens, and anxiety over to Him. The Lord said in 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) "cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." So again, release your anxiety and turn it over to the power of the Lord. He can handle all of the things that our shoulders aren't built to carry. He can handle it for you, but you have to allow Him to. An important part of this is remembering that this takes you having a right relationship with Him. Yes, relationships are very important to God, and He desires one with you!

So remember what it says in the Book of Matthew, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 NIV). Are you ready to rest? Remember 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV), "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

"Good News: Jesus Saves!"

Jesus saves! This is a simple statement but a profound truth — Jesus saves!

There are many people out there who think that there is another way to salvation or another way to get into heaven, but the bottom line is this ... Jesus saves. Scripture reminds us of this fact in Acts 4:12 (KJV), which says: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." That seems pretty clear to me.

However, scripture also reminds us in the Book of Romans of the sacrifice made for our salvation. Romans 5:6-8 (KJV) says, "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Yes, while we were (are) yet sinners, Jesus sacrificed himself on the cross so that we would have a chance at everlasting life and salvation. There is a song that says "Jesus saves to the utmost!" Utmost is defined as, the greatest or most extreme extent or amount. Wow! I believe this to be true, and so should you; true salvation is completed to the greatest or most extreme amount.

Scripture Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Hopefully, this makes it completely clear that Jesus's sacrifice was a gift of grace; one that's available to all of us today. So, as you go through this week, take a moment to remind yourself and others of the good news and the simple truth — Jesus Saves!

"Calvary Cross Still Means Something"

This is a season of rebirth as we see the plants and the grasses returning, the rain coming down replenishing life, and everything greening up again; we should recognize that there is transformation and restoration happening in the natural and in the spiritual, therefore, let's tell others that they, too, have an opportunity for a new life, a refilling and replenishing, a renewing of their life, but it's only through the cross. Calvary cross means more to us than we can even begin to imagine (Luke 23:33-47). Jesus was the Lamb that was "slain from the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8 KJV). For our sins, He went to the cross and died, not having a spiritual spot or a blemish on Him beforehand (1 Peter 1:19), He took our sins, trespasses, and iniquities and carried it all to the cross, bearing the weight of the world upon Himself, so that we would have a chance at everlasting life in the presence of Almighty God. He did this so that we could avoid being separated from our God, the God who is love, for an eternity. Jesus paid it all for us. He was our scapegoat who carried our sins away on that day on Calvary. He was the ransom, the propitiation, the divine sacrifice for every one of us, all at the same time.

Can you imagine the burden He carried for us to the cross ... our sicknesses and guilt were carried to the cross (Matthew 8:17); our lies and cheating ways were carried to the cross; our sins of omission and commission were carried to the cross; our trespasses — the things we do that are against the rules were carried to the cross; our iniquities, faults, and generational failings were all carried to the cross. Along with the hurt and pain we were to suffer as punishment for our failings, were all carried to the cross by Jesus just so we wouldn't have to bear them. He became the ark of life, our transporter, who carried us to a new beginning, and all He asked for was that we believe in Him with all of our heart and confess with our mouth that He is Lord and we would be saved from eternal damnation and into an eternal salvation (Romans 10:9-10,13).

I wonder if any of us could have endured having our hair/beard pulled out by the roots (Isaiah 50:6), being spat upon, beaten with a cat o' nine tails that was designed to inflict the maximum amount of pain and destruction on human flesh all the way down to the bone; then to have a crown of thorns, thorns bigger than rose bush thorns pressed into your scalp for sport (John 19:1-3); then to be slapped, ridiculed, mocked, beaten, nailed to a cross, pierced by a spear; and then given a vinegar-like substance to drink — I don't think so.

But He did it, and still had love in His heart for the bandit who was on the cross next to Him and for us. Enough even so that He asked His Father in Heaven to "forgive them, for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34 KJV) is incredible. Could we have done that? I wonder ... Calvary was a high price to be paid for anybody, but imagine how high of a price it was for the King of Glory to become flesh! He gave up everything for you and me, and now we have a chance to meet Him. Let's tell a friend about the price paid for our salvation and help others to see that we have a Lord who truly loves them more than they love themselves. He is "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6 KJV).

"Love Knows You Best"

No matter what we're going through, we must remember and never forget that God loves us. Yes, through the storms and trials of life, He loves us (Romans 8:39). Through the temptations and challenges, He loves us. When we do wrong, He still loves us and desires that we come back to Him, and so He extends his open arms to welcome us into His grace and mercy. His is an all-knowing, yet forgiving love, from the God who wants nothing more than this from us — that we come into His presence in worship, in spirit, and in truth, not holding anything back and not allowing our past, present, or future to separate us from Him.

He showed His love through His Son's crucifixion on the cross; there's nothing more He could have done than to give His life for us, there was nothing left (John 19:30). He gave it all up at one time, so we could have the opportunity to have everlasting life in the presence of the King. There's nothing we could have done to deserve such a great gift, but because He loves us so much, He gave the one thing that was the most important of all — His life, His only begotten Son.

So, don't waste this opportunity to get it right and to get to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. We never know when our time is up, or that of a family member's or a friend's, so make every moment count. Give yourself to God now and step into your future with praise and honor and mercy through the grace of God. God loves you! Receive all that God has for you. Feel the love that all creation declares (Romans 1:20), and in your deepest, darkest place, know that God is there with you. You are never alone! Don't forget that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

"First Impressions Often Lead to Wrong Conclusions"

How many times have we looked at somebody and thought that we had them figured out, only to find out that we were totally wrong?

The Bible says in 1 Samuel 16:7 (NASB), "for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." This was said in reference to King Saul and how wonderful he looked on the outside. Unfortunately, he would turn out to be prideful and sinful on the inside. But interestingly enough, we do judge a book by its cover sometimes, and most of the time we would be right if we were actually looking at books. However, people are another story, a much more complex story than a book cover.

Many times we may assume that we know what a person is going through, or we think we've got that person figured out when, in reality, we've never even talked to them to find out who they really are. This is one of the toughest problems we have as human beings, we make assumptions about others and we usually get it wrong. Yes, we have good intentions but, sometimes, those intentions are misplaced. Misplaced intentions could cause irreparable damage if we are not careful.

Jesus said in John 7:24 (ESV), "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment." He said this because the people of Galilee were judging him for healing a man on the Sabbath, but those same people who told Him he was wrong were conducting circumcision on the Sabbath too. So, how could they possibly be judging Him? Let us just say that they jumped to a very wrong conclusion.

Let us remember, as we go about in our daily walk with Christ, we may encounter situations and circumstances that we don't understand. And if we don't have the whole picture and we make judgments based on appearances, we will most assuredly fall short and even commit a sin.

James said in James 2:1-5 (ESV), "My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, 'You sit here in a good place,' while you say to the poor man, 'You stand over there,' or, 'Sit down at my feet,' have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?"

The answer is "Yes, He has." So, my challenge to you this week is that we show ourselves friendly to someone and don't presume to know what they are going through. Allow the Holy Spirit to minister to you and them as you find the words to say to comfort them. And be reminded that even people who dress up in fancy clothes and drive fine cars still struggle with the same things as someone who doesn't have much. Compassion is the watch word as we go into this season of the crucifixion and the resurrection.

Say "Yes! To the Test"

Have you ever wondered if you were nice enough to someone or if you've ever made a positive difference in someone else's life? Have you ever gone out of your way to help someone you barely know or someone you don't know at all?

Hopefully, you have done these things and you continue to do them regularly. But if you are struggling to answer these questions in the affirmative, then maybe you have failed a test, a test that you didn't even know you were taking. Yes, the Lord does test us from time to time to give us the opportunity to see if we truly possess the integrity of character that we claim to have as "Christians." No, He won't tempt us, but He will test us.

The Bible says in Hebrews: 13:2 (KJV), "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."

Yes, angels ... they are all around us and, sometimes, they may reveal themselves in whatever form they need to in order to present us with an opportunity to do "good!" That's right, you may be presented with an opportunity to do good and, if you don't do good, then you become subjected to being tested again. Believe it or not, "good" is something we must strive to do and be because of our sin nature. The Bible says in James: 4:17 (KJV), "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."

This is a sin that we can do without and one that is avoidable most of the time. How, you ask? By seeking to do good and then by doing it! You don't have to go far in order to find someone to help. Simply look around, there's somebody in your family, at work, or at church whom you can serve, but you have to look for those opportunities.

So, this week's call is for each of us to find someone that we can do something "good" for. Seek an opportunity to serve and to add a little goodness to the life of a brother or sister or even a stranger. This is an easy opportunity for you to lay up some treasure in heaven. So, do something good for someone this week. And remember that each good deed deserves another, so if you receive a good deed, then pay it forward.
