One Poetry Teachers Life
Welcome to "My Life as a Poetry Teacher," a fictionalized account of one person's experiences in the Poetry classroom. While it is not intended to be a teacher's guide, in addition to being an enjoyable read (one hopes), there are various scenarios presented of how one teacher personalized the everyday aspects of the classroom and attempted to conjoin with his students through the medium of poetry. The first few chapters are technical for the most part, establishing some basic elements of poetry, and a rapport between teacher and student. But in Chapter 4 the student-journal is introduced, which opens a one-on-one dialogue between teacher and student. The give-and-take becomes personal, and the students and the teacher begin to reveal themselves.
