One Teacher's Life
Welcome to "One Teacher's Life," a novel which discusses and details many aspects of Teaching/Education. It is a fictionalized account of one person's experiences in the classroom (he happens to be gay). It includes such chapters as The Beginning (portrait of the teacher as a boy), First Day, Cast of Characters (the staff), Lesson Plans, The Elephant in the Room (grading), and Debacle (practice teachers). While it is not intended to be a teacher's guide, in addition to being an enjoyable read, there are various scenarios presented of how one successful teacher coped with the everyday aspects of the classroom (see Table of Contents of chapter headings). It can also be read as advice, inspiration, tools for mentoring, and paths to growing as a teacher.
