About the Author

Guy A. Marco, now retired, was Dean of Kent State University's School of Library Science and Senior Fellow at Rosary College, Dominican University. He is the general editor of Garland's Composer Resource Manuals and Music Research and Information Guides series.

The 2,833 entries cover titles of books, parts of books, articles, and dissertations in European languages, with full bibliographic descriptions and (except for dissertations) critical annotations. Each entry gives the names of principal and joint authors, editors, translators, titles of earlier editions and of original language publications with dates and publishers, and ISBN, ISSN, and LC information. Although the descriptions are non-critical, musicologist Guy A. Marco introduces some opinions to alert the reader to certain aspects of the content. Annotation c.
