About the Author

Dr. Ziming Liu received his Ph.D. in library and information studies at the University of California at Berkeley in 1996. Prior to joining the faculty at San José State University in 2000, he was a research scientist at Ricoh California Research Center and a visiting faculty member at the University of Washington. He has published numerous papers in top-tier scholarly jourbanals such as Annual Review of Information Science and Technology (1995), Communications of the ACM (2000; 2003), Information Processing and Management (2003; 2004; 2006), Jourbanal of the American Society for Information Science (1996; 1997), and Jourbanal of Documentation (1997; 2004; 2005).
