PELE'S ALTAR
Geologist Joshua Weaver's life is in turmoil as science and folklore collide.
He is a promising scientist, and on the verge of inventing a device capable of predicting volcanic eruptions. But disaster strikes and Weaver's dream ends when his colleagues are killed testing it. Decades pass. When his country knocks on his door, Weaver is called upon to assist in geological studies on a newly discovered asteroid, Pele's Altar.
"The Altar", three million miles from Earth, is now his home. And although protected by the military, Weaver is stalked by someone who should not exist – the Goddess of the Volcano, Pele.
There is one eclectic group in which he bonds but they have their own issues. In addition to in-house fighting, they must work as team to destroy the asteroid's volcano some thirty miles from camp. But getting there won't be easy. With Weaver in tow, not only do they have to deal with the blizzard-like weather conditions, they have to deal with Pele. Whether they succeed or not depends on their fortitude.
