Traditional educational approaches are increasingly ineffective for the needs of today’s learners and society more generally. A new personalised learning solution is required which incorporates an expanded view of education incorporating human rights and capabilities, alongside the traditional human capital educational model.  

This book considers the policies, pedagogy and practice required to achieve this critical transformation. It extends traditional functional learning approaches, based on behavioural, experiential, dialogic and participatory learning, to place the learner at the centre of their learning. About the Author

Rupert Ward is Professor of Learning Innovation and Associate Dean (International) within the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield, UK. He is a UK National Teaching Fellow and Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a former Special Adviser to the Royal Household, and as Project Lead for iDEA, he co-developed one of the world's most successful free educational technologies.
