This first collection of short stories from the "Through Her Eyes" series features fictional stories of Sarah, Hagar and Ado. These three women were close to Abraham, considered by many to be the father of three of the world's most prominent religions: Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. His two oldest children, Ishmael and Isaac, were both influenced by their father's relationship with God and they and their descendants would go on to continue to serve God in perpetuity.
Sarah was Abraham's first wife. They wed when they were both young and their marriage was mired with trials. She tells the story of their triumphs and challenges as they struggled to keep their marriage alive.
Hagar was his much younger second wife. She experienced a more mature Abraham. Her story of her own ambitions offers a different view of all that transpired as Abraham struggled to become a father.
Ado was Abraham's goddaughter-in-law. She married his nephew, Lot, whom he raised after his father was brutally murdered. She adds yet another layer to the character of Abraham as she tells her own adventure filled life story.
These three women were much like women of today: complex multifaceted. Their stories magnify the importance of considering perspective. The teller of the story dictates the tone and the content. Their words reflect their truth, but it may or may not be the truth.
While these stories are informed by the actual events described in the Old Testament, they are not intended to be a replacement or supplement to the Word as it is written. It is a fictional account for entertainment purposes only. I encourage you to read their stories in the Bible, Genesis 11-25. It is the original perspective from which these stories spring.
