Eleven papers constitute the proceedings of an ONR Seminar which took place (January, 1988) in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, in association with a NATO ARW on "Sqeezed and Non-classical Light". The papers are mainly theoretical, but inspired by (or intended to inspire) experimental activity in the field, and are more accessibly tutorial than is standard to such proceedings. The issues addressed, quite apart from their potential applications to optical technology, are pleasingly fundamental. The contributing authors are leading figures in France, FRG, UK, USA.
