Overview

Inspired by first-hand experiences as an orthopedic surgeon, parent, and little league coach, Dr. Wesley K. Cox began writing this book as a tool for his clinic and as an aid for his patients and young athletes. As the need became more and more obvious, the chapters grew. In Play Ball...Play Safe, parents, coaches, and young players are guided through the most common injuries and issues in youth baseball today. Rehabilitation programs are provided, and performance training, hitting and throwing progression programs, and pre- and post- game routines are all given. Using this book as a reference, youth baseball players will be safer and better. Injuries will be recognized sooner, recovery will be quicker, and proper training to improve mechanics and muscle balance will make them better.
