It's difficult to call this set "the very best-of" Frank Sinatra, since it only assembles tracks from the 1940s, with songs recorded for RCA Victor when Sinatra was singing with Tommy Dorsey's orchestra as well as sides from Sinatra's first solo sessions with Columbia Records, making this, in truth, a sort of "best-of early" Frank Sinatra. But hey, this is Frank, one of the most graceful and assured pop singers of the 20th century, so you get gems like his wonderful version of Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn's "Saturday Night (Is the Loneliest Night)."
