Overview

There is nothing more precious than to love and to be loved. As you read these short but meaningful poems from the heart, may it inspire you to love more deeply, and to give more intentionally. Love, it is never perfect Finding the common thread that can bind two hearts together should be the ultimate goal. Love is a journey, not for the weak of heart, but for all those who are willing to venture off into the unknown, to find the treasure that will encourage them to keep on fighting, to keep on believing, and to keep on living. To finally understand that love was not meant to live happily ever after, but to embrace challenges and to love oneself, then learn to love another who will be completely different with all its imperfections.

About the Author

My name is Anita Patricia White, I was nick named “Janet” growing up, and if I am referred to by that name now, I know It must be someone from my past. For the new people that I have acquired in my life, I always introduce myself as my given name. I have longed forgotten that name, but it’s still me and yes, I still answer to it.I am the daughter of Veronica and Lloyd. Born in the year nineteen sixty-two, the year Jamaica got their independence from Britain. At five years old, I was given to my grandmother Rebecca and her husband Steven who took great interest in my parents’ gift to them in ensuring that I would never become a rebel. I was raised with fine qualities as if we were financially wealthy, but we were far from that. I must say, being raised with that belief, helped me to act and behave in ways that has served me well. Good manners were a must, the dinner table was set as if we were expecting visitors, but it was for us. We learned to use knives and forks every time we sat down to eat. We drank out of teacups with saucers, the dinner bell was rang, which is a sign that we were ready to eat. We did not go next door to our neighbors’ home, they were allowed to play with us outside our gate, but they were not allowed inside our home. I am sure there was a reason for my grandmothers strict rules but we never questioned her, at least I didn’t.I started to travel to the USA in the year nineteen ninety and then not long after decided to make the USA my home.
My greatest accomplishments … I am a mother of two beautiful souls Taneil and Dexter, grandchildren Jayden and Tristan.
My journey and my hobbies: a minister of the good news of Jesus Christ, poet, singer, speaker, actor, writer, makeup artist, personal stylist. With the publishing of this book now an author.
Thank you to the love of my life, my friend, my companion, Carl La Victor Hall.
