This is a collection of poetry for lonely evenings. The poems were written over a decade while the poet came to terms with love and loss, and with living alone. Many varied ideas inspired the poems, from remembering the gentle kindness of his mother, to reading the words of Vincent van Gogh (Whilst Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder) to adventure stories of convoys and U-boats on the high seas (We had Braved the Atlantic Run) to Eros and Love in perhaps half the poems in this collection, to coming to terms with loneliness which is expressed in a good dozen poems in this book.
