Pollyanna is orphaned and moves in with her strict, duty-bound aunt. In the included sequel, Pollyanna goes to Boston to stay with a wealthy widow whose only nephew has been missing for eight years. Ruth Carew is a bitter, lonely woman who has given up on the search--until Pollyanna moves in with her.
