I have never had a more involving experience than meeting the gaze of a woman.
I'm certainly not the first.
It's been centuries since men have been seduced by the thousand nuances a woman's gaze can tell.
And the more he tries to understand, the more he loses himself. Perhaps this is the challenge I try to live every day.
I contact the "models" on FB, and propose that they be photographed.
I could make a book just with their answers.
And that too ... would be a book of portraits.
I create the clothes, the make-up, usually very natural and I study their photos to try to understand who, what they are.
It's a fantastic experience.
A challenge.
And when I see in their eyes the amazement at the results, the gratification at having their beauty highlighted...few things can be more rewarding.
I give them back some of the pleasure they gave me by giving me their availability to be photographed.
It is a responsibility.
And it takes respect, dialogue, listening and imagination.
In all these things, I thrive on them.
It's fantastic.
Like having colours, always changing, mobile and mysterious.
I hope they are a feast for the eyes and the heart.
And that these images are, in the absence of words, a suggestion, a prayer...
an invitation to beauty.
