About the Author
GARY BIRD is Professor of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches tuba, euphonium, and jazz studies. He has been Principal Tubist of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and is presently tubist with the Johnstown and Westmoreland symphony orchestras.
