Overview

The Progressive Armonía Studies Level 1 Director's book uses a simple, tried and true progressive approach to start the student in learning how to play standard chords and notes on the guitar, vihuela, and guitarron. The book focuses on the standard keys of G, D, and A Major. The exercises go from simple to complex with the student ultimately studying the mariachi styles of ranchers lenta, ranchers valseada, bolero, cumbia, polka, son jalisciense, and the huapango. The book contains a detailed introduction to the method with important information on how to set up the mariachi armonía student to succeed. Furthermore, each exercise has detailed instructions for the director to be able to teach the material. There is little else the director will need when starting to teach how to play the mariachi guitar, vihuela and guitarron.
