Ruth Amar est maitre de conferences a l'universite de Haifa. Specialiste du roman contemporain, elle a publie de nombreux articles. Elle est notamment l'auteur de Structures de la solitude dans l'oeuvre de J.M.G. Le Clezio (Paris, 2004), Tahar Ben Jelloun. Les strategies narratives (Lewiston, 2006), et a dirige L'Ecriture du bonheur dans le roman contemporain français (Cambridge, 2011).
