Description: This book conveys quality, pertinent information on radiographic image analysis. It includes imaging for all aspects of the body and comparisons between good and bad images. This updates the third edition published in 2011.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide an update with recent images and better organization of the material resulting in less repetition. This book is a necessity for those learning radiographic imaging.
Audience: Although the book is written primarily for students, residents and practitioners also could benefit from the material. It contains valuable information about obtaining quality radiographs, which residents and radiologists should also understand.
Features: Image analysis guidelines for all areas of the body and a firm foundation of digital imaging are presented in a way most will understand. The book contains a good amount of imaging and comparisons, with well-written descriptions. As a technologist/educator I would prefer more recent photographs when using models and more color images, which stimulate the eyes, which in turn stimulate the brain.
Assessment: This book is of good quality and can be very useful to students learning the trade. It is similar to other books in the field. I would like to see verbiage that is more relatable to those new to the field.
