Overview

The book contains two stories: In "Raw Deal" April Baxter has an affair with a co-worker and becomes pregnant. The co-worker, who is married, demands that she have an abortion. She refuses and he plots to kill her.
In "No Place to Hide" Mary Spencer is recuperating from a messy divorce while vacationing on a small island off the coast of Florida. While dining in the only restaurant on the island, Mary overhears two men in the adjoining booth planning a murder. She is shocked to learn that she is the intended victim.
