Overview

This book gives ideas for helping the reluctant readers as well as the readers preparing for test taking. There are multiple choice and free form style questions that build test taking skills as well as writing skills and reading comprehension.

This book can be used as a support material along with other materials available to prepare for the reading portion of the California High School Exit Exam.

There is a reading log and ideas for its use, sight word worksheets, homophone worksheets and reading comprehension stories with questions about the stories for skill building.

About the Author

The author spent years working with student with learning disabilities as well as overcoming her own learning disabilities with reading comprehension. The author found that many audotory learners are being left out of the loop when it comes to learning how to read for content. Some of them need to learn how to read out loud in thier heads in order to fully comprehend and retain the information they are reading.

These worksheets were developed by the author in order to support independent study students as well as to be used in the traditional classroom setting. Her experience teaching in a charter school setting allowed her to have the time to work with students and their families to find the right learning solution for each student. She hopes her educational materials will help other teachers, parents and students.
