About the Author

Harrison Neese is a native Louisianian, born in Ouachita Parish. He has always enjoyed writing and reading the works of others. It wasn't until Harrison retired that he was able to set aside blocks of time for writing.
Three years ago, as a gift to his family, he wrote and published the story of how his grandfather, Jesse Neese, a Tennessee farmer came Louisiana and met his grandmother, Carrie Falcon, a nineteen year old Spanish young woman. Harry is a 7th generation direct descendant of Cristobal Falcón, Gaspar Falcón, and Francisco Alemán, three Canary Island Isleño patriots of the American Revolution, who settled along Bayou Lafourche in 1779. The Falcon family is recognized as one of the First Families of Louisiana by the Louisiana Genealogical & Historical Society. Frank Falcon, his great-grandfather, was a sugar planter and owner of Rescue Sugar Plantation, located on the fabled Great Mississippi River Road south of Baton Rouge.
Nothing Left to Lose is his premiere novel of two Isleño families as they came from the Canary Islands in 1779 to Spanish Louisiana and settle along Bayou Lafourche in what is now Assumption Parish. Nothing Left to Lose captures the essence and drama of these people forced to leave their island paradise and to tame the wetlands wilderness of Spanish Louisiana.
