Road to Somewhere
New! From Bloomsbury Spark, a sunny story of discovery and sisterhood.

A road trip. A singing competition. And super-hot cowboys.

What could be better?

For Charlie, a post-high school road trip isn't just a vacation, it's life changing. While her parents think she's helping a friend move, a chance at fame is the real reason to grab her best friends and drive to L.A. But when her super annoying, uber-responsible, younger sister, Lucy, has to tag along, it isn't quite the summer of fun she imagined.

Add in a detour to her grandparents' ranch in Texas, and between mucking the stalls, down-home cookin', and drool-worthy ranch hands, this could just turn into the best, and most complicated, summer of their lives.

About the Author

Kelley Lynn and Jenny Morris' relationship as collaboration authors began with a silly short story about the struggles of two lovers, Lego Larry and Lego Lucy. The women had been critique partners for a while and helped found the group blog, Falling for Fiction. For the grand opening of the new blog, the FFF girls took on the A to Z challenge and each person was assigned a letter. Kelley and Jenny ended up with the letter L. They decided to each pick a character and write a section from that character's POV. When the story was ready for the group to read, no one knew which author wrote which character. This gave Jenny an idea. If their writing flowed that well in a short story, could they pull it off in a book? Emails were sent, character bios were created. And ROAD TO SOMEWHERE was born.

Kelley and Jenny knew the talent each writer possessed before they set off to work together, but they never imagined the powerful story they could create when those talents were combined. Even though Jenny lives on the West Coast and Kelley lives in the Midwest this friendship and writing partnership knows no bounds.
Jenny S. Morris is six of seven children, born in the north but raised in the south. Jenny's passion for music spurred her to write songs but she soon discovered the characters living in her mind refused to fit in a song. She now lives in the Pacific Northwest where you will find her at home trying to write to the beautiful background noise of her two boys light saber dueling with their father.
Eventually the day came when the voices in Kelley Lynn's head were more insistent then her engineering professor's. So instead of turning to her Thermodynamics book, Kelley brought up a blank page on her computer screen and wrote. Somewhere along the way she became a Young Adult author.

Kelley was born and raised a Midwestern girl. She fills her free time with softball, soccer and volleyball. (Though you probably don't want her on your volleyball team.) She occasionally makes guest appearances as a female vocalist for area bands.

ROAD TO SOMEWHERE is Kelley's second published book. FRACTION OF STONE, a YA Fantasy, was published in March 2013 (Sapphire Star Publishing). You can find Kelley hanging out at her blog, titled in her name, and her Facebook author page. She loves to receive reactions to her work, authorkelleylynn@gmail.com. Kelley is a member of the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators.
