Roses in the shadow
"Just the beginning

Shadow town, Wyoming summer of 1878

Smoke and flames cover this town, I look around in a panic for a moment it feels as though the whole world is on fire.

Screams and gunshots sound from every direction

"Madelyn!!" some screams my name, everything in me tells me to run but instead my knees feel weak. I hit the ground

"Madelyn, Madelyn, we have to go, let's go, we can not stay here" a voice that I recognize as my sister. Gunshots and screams continue as she is dragging me.

I finally regesters what is going on and get up as we run past a man that is clearly dead. I stop for a moment grabbing the gun that is in his now cold lifeless hands and I go through his pockets finding anything that will help us not end up like him.

"Hurry, we have to go!" my sister continues to scream at me. I grab the bullets and we take off towards the woods, Running as fast as our legs will take us.

I take one last look at the place I used to call home.

Before I turned and ran back I had someone to find.

I raised my gun and ran back into the flames."
