CHAPTER 1

Roy is three years old. Roy's sister and brother go to school every day. Roy hears his sister and his brother talk about the fun they have at school every day.

Roy cannot go to school. He is not old enough to go to school. Roy watch as his sister and brother walk into the building.

One day Roy told his mother, I want to go to school!

Roy's mother said, you cannot go to school you are not old enough yet. You will be old enough next year. Then you can go to school.


Why can't Roy go to school?

Roy told his mother, I cannot wait; I want to go to school now!

I need you to stay with me one more year. You can help me here around the house his mother said. I like it when you help me.

Roy is very happy, he loves helping his mother. I will sweep the floor Roy told his mother.

Now Roy is old enough to go to school, Roy went to bed early so he could get up early the next morning. Roy was very excited. He could not wait to go to school.

The next morning, Roy got up early, he got ready for school and quickly ate his breakfast, and he was ready to go.

You must do your best in school Roy's mother said. If you do your best in school, when you grow up you can get a good job. I want to be a fireman Roy said!

Roy grabbed his lunch and ran to the car. It was Roy's first day at school. His mother walked him inside to find his classroom. Roy was very happy to see so many other children. I will make lots of friends! Roy said.

All the other children was playing and talking with each other, but no one would talk to Roy.

They were very mean to him. Roy was very sad.

He wanted to go home. He wanted his father and his mother.
