Running Home

Miriam Nadif, head buyer for her family's grocery stores in Lebanon, had thought she would be the spinster aunt, content to support her father and help him build up the family business. But her father's untimely death transferred her guardianship to her uncle, a Hezbollah supporter who refuses to allow her out of his house.

When they find her Bible, she is threatened with stoning and is forced to flee. She thinks immediately of her best friend from university in Canada, Jerry Ernst, whose gentle example led to her conversion to Christianity. Will the spark between them still exist? Will her troubles follow her across the ocean? Will he even want to help her?

But Jerry has his own problems raising his daughter as a single dad after his wife abandoned them and starting his career as a high school teacher.

About the Author

I am an accountant and a husband and father of four boys.

I grew up in a small town in northern Canada where there were a large number of characters and a constantly changing population. Being able to observe and assess people was an essential skill for small town life.

My mother taught me to read when I was four so she could get the housework done. My father loved to tell stories and taught me how. My wife and sons have taught me the value of love.

While I grew up on a steady diet of science fiction and action adventure, it was my knowledge of small town characters and love of happy endings that steered me in the direction of writing romance.

My wife is still waiting for my first science fiction book and my teens are waiting for a sword and sorcery book. It may be a while.
