Overview

Stephanie White, from Charlotte NC, made up her mind to tackle the three 200 mile distance races known at the Triple Crown of 200's. This includes the Bigfoot 205 mile race, Tahoe 200 mile race, and the Moab 240 mile race. While trying to figure out how to train for these races she decided to do a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail and learned so much about herself and life in general along the way. This is the tale of her adventure as a solo thru-hiker and finisher of all three long-distance races. The ups and downs of a thru-hike and the challenges of such a long and grueling series of races that are set one month apart of each other. She goes into detail of the mental and physical challenges she faced and how she came out at the end as a much more confident, driven, and grateful person. Please enjoy the adventure from the approach trail of the Appalachian Trail to the flight home from Moab in this epic journey a woman from NC set her mind to experience. This life-changing adventure not only showed her what genuine compassion from trail angels felt like but also how strong she was from the inside to be able to conquer all types of challenges.

About the Author

In 2018 I took a year off working as a Paramedic to do a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail on my own. Following my hike, which took 145 days, I ran three 200 mile distance races. I've been a long distance runner for a few years now and last year was quite a challenge. All of this time outside, away from home, in nature lead me to clear the clutter from my mind and soul to be able to dedicate myself 100% to a new career path. It was a life-changing decision with huge goals to accomplish, all in one year. I discovered so much about life, myself, my physical and mental strength as I hiked 2,190 miles and ran over 650 miles of trails.
