Updated in 2018. The ministry of Samuel Howells and the Bible College of Wales (BCW) have touched the lives of countless numbers of people all over the world. The author invites us on a lifelong journey with Samuel, to unveil his ministry at the College, life of prayer and the support he received from numerous staff, students and visitors, as the history of BCW unfolds alongside the Vision to reach Every Creature with the Gospel. The hardback and paperback editions also includes more than 110 black and white photos, which are interspersed throughout the book.

In 1950, Samuel became Director of BCW when his father Rees Howells was taken into glory and he led the work for the next fifty-two years; living a life of faith and intercession. Samuel lived through a time of tumultuous change in the world, and oversaw the work of the Bible College and Emmanuel Grammar School as it sailed through six challenging decades. Filled with 113 Black and white photographs, with many from the time of Rees Howells, this biography remains as a historical record of the life of a great man of God, Samuel Howells, the Director of BCW, its four estates, school, and its worldwide ministry.

Richard Maton worked under Samuel's ministry for forty-seven years and provides us with a firsthand account of Samuel's life and the inner workings of BCW, with its staff and friends. Richard was converted under the preaching of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones and was called to the College in 1956 after hearing Leonard Ravenhill preaching at BCW. He has served in various roles as teacher, lecturer, dean, trustee and Principal of the College and worked closely alongside Samuel for more than twenty years. Richard is married to Kristine who joined the College family in 1936 and provides valuable insights and additions to this story. Together they spent more than 120 years at BCW!

Richard A. Maton was born in London in 1932 and was converted under the preaching of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, before being called to the Bible College of Wales (BCW) in Sketty, Swansea in 1956, after hearing Leonard Ravenhill preach at the annual, Every Creature Conference at BCW. Richard worked under Samuel Howells' ministry for forty-seven years at BCW. Richard has served in various roles as teacher, lecturer, dean, trustee and Principal of the College and worked closely alongside Samuel for more than twenty years. Richard is married to Kristine who joined the College family in 1936. Together they spent more than 120 years at BCW!

Mathew Backholer is a revival historian, seasoned traveller, broadcaster, writer, author, researcher, editor and co-founder of ByFaith Media, who was born in the 1970s. In the late 1990s, Mathew studied at a Bible College in the UK, where he later worked as a staff member, carrying out various duties, including, teaching English (TEFL), itinerant preaching and leading teams of students in outreaches, including weeks of evangelism. As a world traveller, Mathew Backholer has visited more than forty countries and has travelled the length of Africa, from Cairo to the Cape, across South-East Asia from India to Vietnam and from Nepal to Russia via China and Mongolia and has survived the Trans-Siberian Railway. He has driven around Europe, visited North Africa six times, and has journeyed alone, with friends, as part of team and as a leader. Mathew now works with ByFaith Media researching and developing new books, writing for the ByFaith website (www.ByFaith.org) and preparing for new TV projects with his brother Paul. Paul Backholer is a broadcaster, author and the founder of ByFaith Media (ByFaith.org). Paul was born in the 1970s and was called to Bible College in the 1990s, where he later served as staff. As an adventurer following God's call, his Christian mission outreaches have taken him to over forty nations - from the slums of South America, from Cairo to the Cape, into China, across the Trans-Siberian Railway, into the Pacific and through the jungles of South East Asia. Paul has shared Christ in many nations and his ByFaith TV programmes have aired on more than fifteen Christian networks around the world. Having studied theology, Paul is committed to the integrity of Scripture and faithfulness to it. He believes walking closely with God is the most important thing in life, and it was an encounter with the Holy Spirit in his youth which led to him to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
