Overview

Escape with popular romance novelists-and real-life BFFs-Colleen Coble, Kristin Billerbeck, Diann Hunt, and Denise Hunter for four delightful intertwined tales of mystery and sweet intrigue.

There's a secret in Grandma Rose's attic-a forgotten set of dog tags belonging to her first love. But David Hutchins was killed in action and never returned to Smitten. How did the dog tags end up in the attic?

The mystery intrigues Rose's three granddaughters-Tess, Clare, and Zoe-and they decide to investigate, though their mother, Anna, warns against meddling. But as the seasons turn and the mystery unravels, the three young women and their mother encounter some intriguing mystery men of their own. Has a sixty-year-old puzzle sparked something new for this close-knit family of women?*

Editorial Reviews

APRIL 2013 - AudioFile

In this sequel to SMITTEN, the authors revisit Smitten, Vermont, with four more stories of romance and inspiration. Each story can stand on its own yet is tied together with the others. As sisters Tess, Zoe, and Clare, and their mother find love, they’re joined by their grandmother and two aunts. Together they all unravel a mystery. Pam Turlow narrates the stories as a single installment instead of four separate novellas, which makes for a more pleasant listening experience but also challenges her ability to create unique voices for each character. While she does provide variation in her reading, some of the characters come across as whiny—like Zoe, the youngest sister—or a little too monotone for a romantic heroine—like Clare the middle sister and protagonist of the final story. Overall, this is a fun, lighthearted listen. E.N. © AudioFile 2013, Portland, Maine
