Seventh Dimension - The Door is the first book in the Seventh Dimension Series and introduces a young girl, Shale Snyder, who has been bullied at school and comes from a broken home. The Door is written for a younger audience, much like The Hobbit in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The other books in the series, The King, The Castle, The City, The Prescience, and The Howling are written for older teens and adults. The Door is a complete Christian fantasy story. The rest of the books in the Seventh Dimension Series build upon each other.

A curse put on Shale Snyder, because of a secret, shrouds her with insecurity and fear. Following suspension from school, Shale's best friend isn't allowed to see her anymore, and she feels abandoned by her family. When a stray dog befriends her, she follows it into the woods. There she discovers a door that leads to a magical garden.

Lorilyn Roberts is a Christian author who writes for the young and young at heart.

When not writing books, Lorilyn provides closed captioning for television.

Lorilyn adopted her two daughters from Nepal and Vietnam as a single mother. Read her best-selling memoir, Children of Dreams, endorsed by New York Times best-selling author Jerry Jenkins and be inspired.

Lorilyn graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Alabama, which included international study in Israel and England. She received her MA in Creative Writing from Perelandra College and is a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature.

This is a book that will make you think. While it is geared towards young adults and teens, it can certainly convey its message to an adult audience as well. Lorilyn Roberts writes a book that is unique and intriguing. The message of hope and love is clear. It is a story of healing and being able to accept love even if you think you are not worthy of it because everyone is worthy of love.

As for the story itself, I find it so original. It is different from the other stories. I consider this as a fairy tale except that what I feel towards it is unique and it has something to do with how realistic it is no matter how fictional the situation is. Hope, faith and love: these were what transcended while I immerse myself in his beautiful world. Really beautiful.

I wanted to find something that would capture my young teens' attention, ignite their imagination and keep in line with our morals and guidelines for purity. At the library, they tend to pick out books with a bit too much violence, that tend to get 'steamy' and swear throughout. It's so frustrating they start novel after novel, having to put them down because they don't meet our 'quality reading' guidelines. This book however met all our guidelines and they are clamoring for MORE!
