Overview

This story takes place in the mid 1800's with mainly two characters - Scooter and Nugget. Having grown up together homeless in Shawneetown, Illinois these two hear of the gold strike in Californian and decide to go up into the Shawnee hills looking to make their own strike. The two not only run into to some mine trouble but later on they are held at gun point by two looking for and easy handout. Do Scooter and Nugget find their gold. Read and find out what happens.

About the Author

I am a retired factory worker. I worked for Kraft Foods for 35 years and retired at 55 in 2009. My wife and I live on 23 acres in Central Illinos in the the home town of Dick and Jerry Van Dyke, Gene Hackman, Donald O'Conner, Bobby Short, Astronaut Tanner, and several other celebs including several well known writers and Congressman Uncle Jo Cannon.
