A great portion of this book was inspired by lifw changing lessons learned playing on a women's roller derby league. Playing Roller Derby in her 40's (2012 - 2014), Janine gained more than roller skating skills. She gained life skills and knowledge. It was a great adventure and confidence booster.

Janine Folks is a Content Writer, Author, Publisher, Self Publishing Doula and Owner at Get The Pen. She is a Roller Skating Instructor and Business Partner at Rollercade Detroit a business owned by her family since 1955. Janine is also a Hospice Chaplain (20 years), Grief Counselor. She holds a BA from University of Michigan and has completed 4 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education. She is the mother of three adult children and two grandchildren. She currently lives in Michigan with her life partner.
