"Winter arrived and became what people called, 'the coldest winter ever!' But no one was colder than this little kitten who had no home." He wants a home more than anything and spends his days slinking up the steps to the porches along Dobson Street -- rubbing against porch railings and sometimes front doors, twitching his tail and rolling on porch floors. But instead of warm welcomes he gets shooed with shouts: “Go on … SKAT! …SKAT you STINKY, AWFUL CAT!” Winter grows colder, and the cat hungrier. But when packages wrapped in shiny paper, ribbons, and bows begin to arrive on doorsteps, things change. Will he abandon his pursuit to bat at Christmas wrap, or will the act of loosing himself help him find an unlikely way into someone's heart and home?
