CHAPTER 1

Hi there! My name is Cole. Have you ever been scared of things you don't know much about? Me, too! I used to be afraid of snakes, sharks, and dinosaurs. Sometimes I even had bad dreams about them. But not anymore.

I didn't always love playing with my stuffed orange Boa. There was a time when I thought that real snakes were disgusting and slimy.

Now I like to pretend I'm a scientist who studies snakes, called a herpetologist. I imagine that I'm traveling deep in the Amazon rainforest.

The jungle in my bedroom is an awesome place for snakes to hang out. I have great fun with my reptile pals.

Sharks really scared me at first. I was afraid of their menacing fins, powerful bodies, and sharp teeth.
