About the Author

CRISPIN BOYER lives in Xcalak, a small fishing village in Mexico, where he writes about history, wildlife, and technology. He and his wife live with their flock of hens, a turkey, two roosters, and a guard goose.

His 2013 cover story for National Geographic Kids magazine, Return of the Missing Lynx, won an Eddie Award for Best Single Article, Youth/Teen. The American Library Association chose his book This or That? as one of 2015's top picks for reluctant young-adult readers.

Most spreads feature a concept presented in two or three sentences, sometimes with an insert providing greater detail. The facing page features a digital illustration labeled with the dinosaur's name and pronunciation, and a pithy speech bubble nearby (e.g., "Nice to EAT you!"). Dinosaur books are always in demand, and the humor and design of this text will appeal to many young readers. It will be especially appreciated by independent readers who want to engage with more mature-looking material without hitting their frustration threshold.
