Overview

The second Gucci Mane-related release of 2020, So Icy Gang, Vol. 1 is another showcase for his burgeoning squad, the New 1017. Unlike its predecessor So Icy Summer, this collection sets the big-name collaborators aside, allowing the crew to shine on almost two dozen tracks. Label signees Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, K Shiday, Quentin Miller, and standout star Mulatto take center stage on highlights such as "Homeboy on a Shirt," "Meeting," and "Win, Lose or Draw," with Gucci dropping verses here and there to justify his top billing. As with any other release from the trap don, So Icy Gang is enjoyable and competent, but won't win any awards for ingenuity.
