Most people won't admit how much social media means to them. Wake up each day immediately checking phones and devices for messages, notifications and the latest news. So often in social media life we kid ourselves into thinking we don't care how much response something we post gets. Often times writing and rewriting a status update, post or tweet many times, hoping that cleverness, insightfulness or humor will get more attention. There is an ongoing daily competition online whether you think you are involved or not.
