About the Author

Pauthang Haokip obtained his degrees of M.A. and Ph.D. in Linguistics from North Eastern Hills University, Shillong. Thereafter he joined the Department of Linguistics, Assam University, Silchar as Assistant Professor. His research areas include Phonetics and Phonology, Tibeto-Burman Linguistic and Socio-linguistics. He has been actively associated with Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore thereby completing a major project entitled The Comparative Study of Kuki-Chin Language Spoken in Manipur.
