Solution Processed Nanophotonics: Infrared (IR) and Ultraviolet (UV) Sensors
In this book, we introduce capability of solution process based nanotechnology to realize optoelectronic devices and systems operating in room temperature to open a new way to realize all-optical engineering. Especially, we concentrate on optoelectronics IR and UV sensors using solution process in this book. For doing these tasks, phoonductive sensors using core-shell colloidal quantum dots are used. A novel perspective of this book is presentation of room temperature IR and UV photodetectors as well as low cost and easy to fabricate in each research centers and universities.

About the Author

Ali Rostami received his PhD degree in photonic/electronic engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 1998. He was in sabbatical leave in the University of Toronto, Canada 2004-2005 at the Photonics Group. Dr Rostami is currently full Professor of Electronic Engineering and Photonics Science at the University of Tabriz. His teaching and research interests include optical integrated circuits and optoelectronic devices. He is a member of the Optical Society of America (OSA). He is the author and co-author of more than 200 scientific international refereed journals, 300 conference papers, 15 text books in Persian in Iran, 10 book chapters in USA and Europe and 2 books in Springer. He collaboarate with industrial regularly and till now more than 50 industrial projects were done in this group. Also, he collaborates with some international journals as reviewer boards and works as editorial committee of four Iranian journals and more than 5 international journals. Prof. Rostami has served on several other committees and panels in government, industry, and technical conferences. Prof. Rostami is founder of Photonics and Nanocrystals Research Lab. (PNRL) in the University of Tabriz since 2000. School of Engineering-Emerging Technologies is another project that is established by Prof. Rostami at University of Tabriz since 2008. Also, Prof. Ali Rostami is founder of Asian Symposium on Electromagnetics and Photonics Engineering (ASEPE) that held in Tabriz, Iran in 2012 and 2013 and next event will be held in 2015. Also, he was chair of center of Excellence for mechatronics since 2005 to 2013. Dr. Rostami was selected as distinguished researcher of the University of Tabriz several times and two times in 2007 and 2011 he was elected as distinguished researcher in engineering field in national scale in Iran. Prof. Rostami was vice chancellor for research and technology at the University of Tabriz since 2008 to 2014. Also, he was elected as best University professor in 2012 in Iran in Electrical Engineering. Professor Ali Rostami is one of experts have valuable contribution in developing all-optical engineering since 2000. Also, he recently concentrated on Solution Processed based all-optical engineering since 2008. Due to this activity a lot of papers were published in this area and successful experimental results show that this area can be used by enginers and garaduate students as well as researchers. Room temperature MIR and Far Infrared photodetectors, MIR camera, multiwavelength photodetectors with separate output electric signals proposed in Prof. Rostami’s researh group for the first time. Solution processed based optoelectronics devices and systemd developed in Rostami’s and other active research groups show very high quality for operation, thus this technology can be considered as suitable area to develope all optical engineering. Right now, he is in USA for second sabbatical leave and works to develope solution processed based camera.

Ghasem Rostami is faculty member at school of engineering-emerging technologies in the University of Tabriz. His PhD was in Plasmonics area and graduated 2012 from the University of Tehran, Iran. His research area is analysis and design of Nanoparticles based Plasmonics structures and all-optical engineering. He published more than 25 international journal and 55 conference papers. He is right now collaborates with Prof. Ali Rostami for developing all-optical engineering based on solution process.

Mahboubeh Dolatyari is faculty member at school of engineering-emerging technologies at University of Tabriz. Her PhD was in nanotechnology and inorganic materials and graduated 2010 from the University of Tabriz. She was for more than two years as post doc researcher in Prof. Ali Rostami’s research group and concentrated on colloidials Quantum Dots. Her research area is analysis and design of Nanoparticles based Optoelectronics structures. She published more than 40 international journal and 50 conference papers. She is right now collaborate with Prof. Ali Rostami for developing all-optical systems based on solution process.
