About the Author

Robert E. Cripe was born in Macon, GA, in the heart of Southern Gospel Music, in 1946, at a time when the “All Night Sings” were very popular and gospel artists achieved celebrity status, and many were household names.

He sang bass with a local group called the Gospel Boys Quartet at the age of 15. After graduating from Lee College with a degree in Sociology in 1971, he has continued his love of Southern Gospel, singing with several groups, as well as working with children’s and adult choirs. Robert is currently (2016) a member of The Songsmen of middle Georgia.
