About the Author

Claudius Stein, MD, is a general practitioner and psychotherapist (KIP) in private practice. He has been the medical director of the Crisis Intervention Center in Vienna for 20 years, and is also a teaching therapist for catathymic imaginative psychotherapy (ÖGATAP), a lecturer for the German Society for Catathymic Image Experience (AGKB) and a trauma therapist. He is deputy chair of the Austrian Society for Suicide Prevention, a member of the expert panel of the Suicide Prevention Austria (SUPRA) Contact Point on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks. His scientific research concerns include crisis intervention, grief and loss, suicide prevention, psychotraumatology and psychotherapeutic work with the imagination. He also regularly conducts continuing education and training events on these topics.
