About the Author

Surekha Pandit Bapat voluntarily retired as a lecturer in geography from the Government V.N. Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (formerly, Morris College), Nagpur. She has been a meritorious student throughout and has won prizes and medals during her career. She was also a holder of National Scholarship. She has presented short research papers in national and international geographical conferences and Indian Science Congress, and has to her credit a number of published papers in geographical journals as well as in edited volumes on geographical topics. Also, she has a book to her credit on Geography for primary students published on behalf of Balbharati, and books on Geographical topics for University students. Dr. Surekha Pandit Bapat earned her Ph.D. on Spatial Efficiency in Geography in 1991 under the guidance of Prof. N.G. Jain.
