About the Author

Dr Barbara Bell is Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University. She has substantial professional experience in the management of community sport and recreation. Her research interests include youth sport policy, the evaluation of sport programmes and the social impacts of sport. Dr Bell also has extensive experience of teaching and examining sport courses in higher education. She is a member of the Institute of Sport, Parks and Leisure.
