About the Author

The author had spent the last 20 years working as a futures broker with Refco, a software designer and contract engineer for various investment and trading firms and trading desks. He has been trading and studying the futures markets since the 1987 stock market crash when as a novice stock broker he had witnessed the immense losses people took as investors. His personal business as a broker was damaged so badly that he decided to learn the future's markets and the nuts and bolts of the commodity world. In the library of the Chicago Board of Trade he found an old but very thick book on historical commodity spreads and Seasonal study of these markets going back 15-20 years. That book and the further research of this niche business has stayed with him until today and formed his future speculative efforts.
In the late 80’s after getting a grubstake together he purchased a membership at the Midam1 Futures and later he became a full member at the Chicago Board of Trade. He had traded options on futures and various commodity spreads.
The author has been licensed and registered with the NASD, NFA and CFTC. He now lives in Davis, California.
