About the Author

Betty Reynolds is best known for her children's books about Japanese culture including Japanese Celebrations and Tokyo Friends. She left a career as a creative consultant and advertising art director to accompany her husband to Asia where she embraced Chinese brush painting, calligraphy, and Asian cooking. They first moved to Singapore and then Tokyo where they lived for seven years. She now divides her time between Philadelphia and Orcas Island, WA but her heart remains in Japan.
