About the Author

Tomás Alvarez is the most noted Spanish scholar in Teresian studies. Besides his editions of her Complete Works and Letters, he has presented to the public in excellent critical editions the photocopies of Teresa's manuscripts so that now we have her Life, The Foundations, The Way of Perfection and The Interior Castle just as they came from Teresa's hand.
