Kristen Morgan's blog is about to get her into trouble. Deep trouble.

Online, she is known as "Stargazer" from the popular Stargazing from Nowhere blog, while in real life she is a regular fifteen-year-old high school student. This online anonymity is quite liberating, allowing her to be completely honest with her readers. Through a twist of fate, Rising Tide, the band she has bashed the most online, ends up in her small town, which sends Kristen into an excited panic.

To continue gathering fresh material for her blog, she poses as a Rising Tide fan. After sneaking into the band's private party, she comes face to face with the band's drummer, Michael Stevens, who happens to be even more gorgeous in person than she cares to admit. Something unexpected also happens to her when she meets him: she becomes giddy, nervous, and inarticulate, leading Kristen to realize that her interest in Michael has nothing to do with her blog, but everything to do with her heart.
As Kristen and Michael grow closer, does she have to make a choice between blog or boyfriend...Or is the choice made for her?

About the Author

Isabel won the prestigious Samuel French Canadian Playwriting Contest for her play Bingo Babes, and this play is published and represented by Samuel French Inc. Bingo Babes is also featured in The Best Stage Scenes of 2002, D.L. Lepidus, ed., and a monologue is featured in The Best Stage Monologues of 2002, D.L. Lepidus, ed.

She has also won various awards for her screenplays, including the Audience Choice Award at the Female Eye Film Festival in Toronto for her romantic comedy (co-written with Marilyn Thomas), Brazilian Wax, and a Heritage Canada award for her children's short film script, The Bunny Killer. She was invited to the playwright's unit at Cahoots Theatre Company, and was one of eight participants that year selected for the NALIP story development workshop with a CBS Script Analyst and an established L.A. based Producer. She is also a past NALIP Writer's Lab Fellow (sponsored by Twentieth Century Fox, HBO, The Writer's Guild of America, and Time Warner) and is grateful to be mentored by industry professionals, including Academy Award Nominees, Script Analysts and Producers. In addition, she has also worked as a writer for hire for L.A. based producers, and has had screenplays under option.
Her first YA novel, Stargazing from Nowhere, was originally a screenplay written by Isabel and her sister, Marilyn Thomas. (Their surnames are Duarte, but they write under their middle name Thomas for their Young Adult and Chick Lit novels). They felt that this story would lend itself to a YA series, so the novel idea was born. She has taught High School English and Social Studies for several years, where she's witnessed teen culture and teen drama, making her a quasi-expert on teen life. It also helps that there are always so many available and willing readers to provide commentary on teenage feelings and life, so she forever grateful to her avid teen readers.

Isabel is also a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc., the Playwright's Guild of Canada, and Toronto Women in Film (WIFT).

A graduate of the University of Toronto, with a Double Specialist in History and Political Science, Isabel also completed Canisius College in Buffalo, NY for Teacher Certification in Intermediate and Secondary and received English Qualifications from the Ontario Institute of Education. She also attended the Neighbourhood Playhouse School of Theatre in New York City and the Second City Improv in Toronto.

She is busy at work on her next project.
